VideoTag Terms of Service

Effective date: September 21, 2026

VideoTag is an app made by Stan James. It records a video, saves it to a place
you choose and control, and prints a label with a QR code that links to it.

These terms are deliberately short, because the app is simple: there is no
account to create, nothing to pay for, and no server of ours holding anything
of yours.

Using the app

VideoTag is free, and provided as it is. You may use it for anything lawful.

The app is early and made by one person. It may change, break, or stop being
available. Do not rely on it for anything that would matter if it were
unavailable tomorrow, and keep your own copies of anything you would be sorry
to lose. Your videos live in your own account, so they do not depend on this
app continuing to exist.

Your videos are yours

VideoTag claims no ownership of anything you record. Videos go from your phone
to the place you connected — your own YouTube channel, your own Google Drive,
or your own storage — and Stan James has no access to them.

You are responsible for what you record and for having the right to record it.
Be careful when recording other people, and especially children.

A label is a link anyone can follow

This is the one thing worth understanding before you stick a label on
something. A QR code is a link, and a link works for whoever holds it.

Anyone who can see the label can watch the video. A label on a box in your
house is as private as your house. A label on something you sell, lend, post,
or photograph is not private at all. Think about where a labelled object might
end up before you label it.

The services you connect

VideoTag is a client for services you already have. YouTube, Google Drive, and
any storage of your own are governed by their own terms, not these. Your
agreement about those accounts is with those providers.

No warranty, and limits

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent the
law allows, Stan James is not liable for loss of videos, loss of data, or other
damages arising from using the app.

Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by agreement.

Changes

These terms may change as the app does. The effective date above says when they
last did.
